As a doctor, one of our primary responsibilities is to grow our patient count and in turn, increase the revenue in clinic. The strength and stability of any successfully running medical centre / clinic / hospital is strength of the patient base / customer base it has. Many of us has been doing this mistake of relying solely on the current set of patients. Please know that the current set of patients will not give you future revenue. One of the key factors by which we can ‘De-risk’ ourselves of having the pain of losing the present set of patients is by adding/ inviting / welcoming new patients.
Here are a few tips to enhancing the visibility and increasing the inflow of customers
𝟏) 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐊𝐄𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬: If only you are marketing consistently, you can generate new patients consistently. It does not mean that you have to give regular paid ads in television / newspaper / social media but simple activity like leading a public awareness session, writing an article or putting up a WhatsApp status can be a cost-effective way of connecting with new people.
𝟐) 𝐀𝐬𝐤 𝐑𝐄𝐅𝐄𝐑𝐑𝐀𝐋𝐒 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲: As Medical professionals we often consider a shame to ask for referrals. We rather chose to “wait for the referrals to be hung down from heavens door”. Its when you ASK, you shall RECEIVE. Also, it should be a practice to THANK those people / well-wishers who referred us a new patient.
𝟑) 𝐍𝐔𝐑𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬: We don’t generally stay in touch with people who have not become our patients till date. Let’s remember NOT TO DISCONNECT with those people who have shown interest in the services we provide but have not bought from us. Always remember to establish a relationship to nurture them by adding value, and thereby increasing your credibility
𝟒) 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐑&𝐃 𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: R&D involves researching your market and your needs of your patient and developing new & improved products and services to fit these needs. Including new set of products like package treatments for infertility/ hair fall OR services like couriering of medicines, Online consultation etc will encourage more people to flow in
𝟓) 𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 / 𝐓𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐀𝐋𝐒: When you share the stories of how your treatment has impacted the lives of your satisfied patients, you will be amazed to know how your clientele improve with the ripple effect.
I would invite you to 𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩, which would collectively help others in this community.
If each one of us practise each of these 5 ways, 5 days a week, almost 5 weeks of months for 5 consecutive months …. That has the power to change your destiny.
